Update: sorry it's a long one

Knitting news!
I finished my opal advent calendar minis socks, this is 5 minis (the toes are knit using the same mini). I love how these turned out, I like the semi matching but not feel to them :) I used my standard sock pattern (vanilla latte) but deepened the heel slightly.
Also, they're really comfortable and that always helps lol
I also finished a pair of little victories socks using fondant fibre hardy high twist for my mum as a surprise for christmas, hope she likes them :)
Spinning news!
These next two skeins were gifts for Mel from the yarn tree, and she seems to like them :)
I finished the white face woodland (from fondant fibre) 2ply on my kiwi 2, I got 125m from 99g
I also spun some Jacob/bamboo blend from fondant fibre and got 125m from 94g, again on my kiwi 2. It was a little sheddy but not as bad as the 100% Jacob I tried spinning in the past lol still I think it's a fibre I'll not likely buy again.
Goodies!
My christmas swap package arrived (through the fondant fibre rav group), mine came all the way from Spain and included some hand carded local fibre, some fun looking and soft hand spun and some treats to eat too (they all look lovely but sadly I had to give the ones containing nuts away as they make me feel not good, I'm intolerant I think, rather than allergic).
I love the deep colours in the hand spun :)
My Harry Potter kit also arrived from British Bea knits, the kit included a skein of 100% merino in the Welcome to Hogwarts colourway, a coordinating pompom, an awesome set of mini stitch markers and a hat pattern. The colours are rich and vibrant, the yarn is soft and the stitch markers may become my new faves for socks :) I highly recommend buying a kit (available in different colours) when available in January.
The yarn tree Nightmare Before Christmas box has arrived and is awesome!
I should point out that I ordered the luxury box (a standard was available), but it included:
a skein of DK merino - we're simply meant to be (standard)
a skein of merino/cashmere/nylon sock - 'tis the season to be jolly (luxury)
a project bag (luxury)
painted wine glass and charm (luxury)
painted candle holder and t light candle(luxury)
a set of stitch markers (standard)
badge (standard)
stickers (standard)
chocolate buttons(standard)
I also went a bit nuts ordering past box yarns and a couple skeins with a coupon code too, I love her colourways sooo much lol signed up to quite a few boxes next year lol January kicks off with a sock club and Game of Thrones themed box, only a few places left so sign up fast if you're interested :) I highly recommend them :)
Left to right:
The fabulous Baker Street boys (2015 yarn box), heroes in a half shell, we're all mad here (2015 yarn box), & rainbow all on a sparkle base (silver or gold).
It's the last week of school before the christmas holidays, I've been super busy trying to fit everything in before my son is home everyday, almost but not quite ready yet...fingers crossed I'm done by end of school tomorrow lol Presents are mostly wrapped but I'm yet to do cards or even get the tree out and decorated, I'm a seasonal fail lol
I've been having some pain the past few days so not getting much knitting done either, hopefully I'll be knitting like crazy again soon, it's my calm but productive thing n I get frustrated when I go a while without it. Especially when I have lots of things to knit planned, which I always do lol but even more so with so many wonderful colourways arriving :) Hope you all have fun plans whether seasonal or not, and don't get too stressed over crafting deadlines if you have any.
Happy Crafting!

Knitting and spinning update!

Knitting news!
I finished the honey cowl, sadly it's a little snugger than I like so will see how I feel if it stays with me or not. I used felt fusion merino aran in her rainbows and clouds colourway. It'll be a shame if I don't keep it as it is absolutely beautiful, I love the spiraling rainbow :)
I knit a buni facecloth pattern by tikki knits, a filler project waiting to cast on my christmas socks for 1st Dec :) facecloths can always be handy though :)
I had to rip out and re knit 32 rounds but I finished my first opal mini from the opal advent calendar, it continued into today as I was just too tired n fed up form the ripping out to carry on.
I also started the second mini and I love the transition form colour 1 to 2, it's blended really well but it was a total lucky accident :) Doubt I'll finish this one today too as getting achey wrists and elbows so need a little knitting break, might manage a few rounds before bed but won't get through the full mini tonight.
I've also started a new square for the ten stitch blanket for my son ,this one starts with pink and will then be green, yellow and green again :)
I think I'm frogging the helical as it's too fitted, mum was sure she wanted a slouchy hat to go over her hair clips...ahh well, I should have just ripped it out when I first had doubts...but no that would have been the smart thing to do lol
Spinning news!
I started some spinning, this is white faced woodland from fondant fibres rare breeds collection. It seems to be spinning a bit thick overall with a few thin bits, see how it plies.
I've still not picked up my spindle to finish the merino from my magic swap partner but I will eventually :)
Happy Crafting!
