hitchhiker and scarf

I finally finished the red hitchhiker lol it's smaller than a standard one so more of a scarf than a shawl, but there are a few ways it can be worn, especially if you have a shawl pin or broach to hold it in place.
I like this pattern but think I prefer the finished look of the trillian, which is by the same designer Martina Behm on ravelry. I'd like to make myself a trillian as think the first one I made is going to be a gift, I'm thinking maybe a variegated yarn but I have so many to choose from that could change lol
I ordered some babylonglegs yarn, but it is already cast on, it was bought specifically for a scarf for my friend. Although it's so tempting to buy more as it would look awesome as a trillian :)
It's knitting up slightly darker than it looks in the cake but that's due to there being more dark colours than bright, so lovely though, nice to knit and looks stunning :)
I've done a little spinning on the summer blues superwash merino fibre form fondant fibre but it's still not finished. I was hoping to finish it before my tattoos but didn't so it'll have to wait till am healed, don't wanna risk fibre in healing tattoos, that would not be pleasant lol

I finally got the knitting wizardry ebook, which is just a few patterns short of being the unofficial Harry Potter ebook also from interweave (USA only), something about copyright in the UK. I love this, I want to knit a few things, especially the drop your guard vest, owl cardigan, elf cap, and the forbidden forest scarf. Those are just my faves, there are so many nice patterns in this ebook, my size means I'd need quite a lot of yardage for the clothing projects but may be something to treat myself, may start with the drop your guard vest in a cheaper yarn as it's a layering piece so won't effect my eczema (not skin on skin). Will see how things go as my knitting is slow lately and I really need to start working through my stash rather than building it lol though I always buy faster than I knit/spin lol an idea fir some of my cheap acrylics is a log cabin blanket :)

So tempted to buy a mini turk to try but so far I've managed to restrain myself lol that may not last long as I have so much fibre and always wanting more lol
And on that note I'm off :) to watch podcasts, which are good at tempting me all the more lol

Socks update and pumpkin

I'm still working on the socks, still not even at the heel lol I'm so slow...I'm liking how they're turning out so far. I can't wait to start more though too, as I now have so many gorgeous yarns I wanna knit, and I'm just too slow lol
I also made a small pumpkin stuffie, it's a bit wonky but I quite like it :)
And my fastenstation studio order arrived :) some green buttons and a green shawl pin, never used a shawl pin like this before so see how it goes lol I also love that I now have some stamps from the USA! They can go in my wreck this journal :)
I also won some fastenstation studio buttons through the knit girllls podcast :) the I love Ewe buttons, so adorable and can't wait to see them in person :)
I'm hoping to get more knitting done, but with my joints it's just slow going right now...it doesn't help that my son has a habit of injuring me (mainly back, joints or face) which keeps slowing me down too.
I haven't finished spinning the summer blues superwash merino yet as have done no spinning this week...soon, I hope!
That's about it this week :)

My apologies! update

Sorry I haven't posted much recently, I'm having some elbow, wrist and hand pain so knitting and spinning is a little difficult. I can do a little at a time but it means I don't have much progress on anything sadly.
Think I may have pushed myself too far for stash dash and now my body is punishing me lol
On a happy note I have some lovely new things for when I can get to them :)
Fondant Fibre: some super soft mixed Finn and silk in natural, more norboo in whispering gold, superwash cheviot (my first) in orbit, and more superwash merino in desert night so I now have 200g to play with :)
Felt Fusion: my first order with this company, the geek's aurora (merino/nylon blend) was dyed up as she had none in stock, but I love the vibrant mix of colours and look forward to seeing how they knit up, the black and green sparkle was the last she had in stock and is a merino/nylon/sparkle blend for some awesome witchy looking socks :)
Felt Fusion: superwash merino fibre in the Sunset Blvd colourway, really bright colours and super soft too :)
So I now have lots of pretties I really want to use and sore joints preventing me speeding up so I can lol
The socks I'm working on are intended for a friend (if they fit and she likes them), though still not at the heel yet lol -fingers crossed- I'd like to make myself some socks out of both of these yarns but not sure which first lol I still have some xmas gifts to knit too...and I have hopes to hand spin and hand knit something for someone too :)
And not forgetting I want to make some small knitted pumpkins too :)
As it stands I'm still working on the red hitchhiker, opal little prince socks and I have a single fingerless mitt lol and I'm still spinning the summer blues superwash merino too.
Oh and I'm after making a 12" square to send to ObiwanKnitter aka Dan from the bakery bears.
Wish me luck...

Octopus 2 and 3...bird and pumpkin

I finished the second octopus in variegated blue and it's staying at home :) my son loves him, even have pics of it getting cuddles, before being thrown lol
And finished the 3rd octopus in pink and going to live with my mum :)
Then I did a baby blue 'bluebird of happiness' and another in variegated blue yarn :) both are gifts that need posting out.
I also appliqued a 'tiny pumpkin' which I'm hoping to use as part of this months mail art :)
I've not been knitting and spinning as much as been having joint and hand problems :( but slowly trying to get back into it. I really need to as going into hibernation mode and knitting will help my mood lol

Pretties! + update

I have yet more pretties lol made the most of my coupon code right up to the last second lol
Go check out Fondant Fibre guys!
Fibre:
Superwash merino 100g in desert night, I love these colours so much and it's in my first braid which looks very pretty :)
Shetland 100g in tapestry, similar to desert night colours but muted, got this one to try shetland for the first time.
Yarn:
Superwash BFL 4ply in look for the silver lining, same as previous order so I have 200g total for a larger project :) love these colours :)
Superwash polwarth in chasing stars, I got a sample of this and liked it and ummed and ahhed about whether to buy more blue yarn and then before I knew it, it had jumped into my cart lol
Also got a project bag to used for fibre and spinning, while spinning in one project bag I can prep the next fibre into nests and leave it in here so I swap bags for spinning. It's a very girly pink daisy print but it's nice and only needed one so didn't wanna buy the twin set of chicks even though I really wanted the chick print.
My mini samples this time were some mixed finn and silk (in foresty) which I've never used and approx 20g silk hankie (in swim with dolphins) to try, may knit straight from this. Love the colours and look forward to trying them :) Fondant Fibre are having a silk hankie along on ravelry if anyone is interested, spinning or knitting.
I've also joined the Jazz Club, but my friend paid for it as a birthday gift (a little early as not till December but ahh well lol), the club runs for 3 months starting in September and the fibres are all silk blended luxury yumminesses...In the last month you get an exclusive project bag and you'll get samples to try and play with in each shipment, I'm excited! Nervous to spin with silk as it's so nice so thinking I may save these till I've tried spinning a few more, I have time lol nearly finished the corriedale and will probably go for a merino again next lol
I've been knitting on the hitchhiker and hoping to finish it this month so it can be included in the Bakery Bears getting ahead of the game KAL, but will see how I go. I'm also working on the two at a time toe up socks, slowly but surely lol they are a serious investment for a slow knitter like myself lol I've also cast on a second octopus in blue shades :) the double DK on 4mm is killer on my wrists but it'll look nice when it's finished :) My mum now wants one too lol though think I may just do DK and save myself a little lol
Hope you're all enjoying your summer.

New pretties! + 2AATTUS

My Fondant Fibre order arrived today :D
Superwash BFL sock weight yarn in 'I like warm hugs' which my sis said looks like Sully from Monsters Inc. and 'Look for the silver lining' both are gorgeous!
I also got 'I like warm hugs' and 'something gothic' in the norboo fibre as I really enjoyed spinning up the 'kingfisher' sample I got with my last order.
I also bought some corriedale fibre in 'mossy rainbow' I have to admit the small amount I've spun so far is not as nice as the superwash merino or norboo but I've gotta give it a bit more of a try, it is coming out fairly thin, well less huge fat spots so far lol
I've finally cast on the two at a time toe up socks I said I was going to do this year lol they're with opal sock yarn from the little prince range.I'm hoping these will fit a friend, and that she likes them but if not they may fit me lol I'm loving the lack of matching so far but see how they turn out. I've just finished the toe increases.

Update

It's a good job I completed stash dash before I went away as I hardly touched my needles on my hols lol
We did however have loads of fun and adventures lol
Other than the initial drama of changing not just caravans but caravan sites, we settled into our second caravan happily and enjoyed the rest of our holiday.
We went to the sea life center in Great Yarmouth, the model village (where my son just wanted to stand in one spot and watch electric trains lol), yesterdays world for yummy afternoon tea, and the beyond awesome BeWILDerwood twice (turns out my toddler really doesn't have a problem with heights or huge slides) :) each time I fell asleep on the setee after, such an brilliant and tiring day lol as well as Thrigby wildlife park where I learned my son doesn't like wild cats lol
I've come home to an intimidatingly large spider :( and loving my own bed again lol plus no toddler sharing with me...haven!
Happy Crafting! I need to get my craft on lol
