It's a long one...

Knitting news!
I finished the close to you scarf/shawl, and I love how it turned out :) even more so after it's wash, the drape is wonderful. Yarn is merino/nylon sock from the yarn tree in the Goofy colourway.
I also finished the espresso macchiato socks in Nicole C Mendez self striping yarn with WYS poppy seed heel.
I also made a last minute school bus washcloth for my sons transport driver.
I cast on the reyna shawl in the yarn tree merino/nylon sock in the life's a beach colourway (from her recent surprise sock box) and though not my typical colours, I love it :)
I've added the second colour to the super chunky ten stitch blanket...
Spinning news!
I spun some beautiful SW BFL from owl about yarn, I got 97.5m from 80g of a 2ply, it didn't quite turn out how I'd planned but I still think it looks really good.
I also got 10m of an attempted navajo ply, it's super over plied but the colours look great.
I spun some of the fibre from my recent visit to countess ablze, this is 100% corriedale in the stardust colourway and I got 102m form 102g of a 2ply.
Goodies!
My SuperWhoLock box arrived from the yarn tree, it contained:
100g sw merino/nylon sock in mad woman with a yarn box colourway
Supernatural nacklace
Sherlock book mark
Dr Who lever clasp marker
the extra skein was called hey assbutt (and I'm getting that in a mix and match box)
My surprise sock box arrived too and the yarn is seriously stunning, not my colours yet I love it and cast it on right away :) it contained:
100g sw merino/nylon sock in the life's a beach colourway
a flip flop progress keeper
beach themed project bag
My Gryffindor preorder from Norah George arrived, it contained:
100g self striping sock yarn in the Gryffindor colourway plus 50g of trim
themed clasp markers
candle melt
lion bar
and description
My first installment of the Mrs Weasley's knit club arrived, I can't wait to see all three together and decide whether to use them together or apart...
I enjoyed my visit to countess ablaze in Swinton, I went a little over budget, mainly due to a bargain bucket lol but I love all my purchases and will hopefully get a separate post up to show off my buys soon.

Update; lots of projects

Knitting news!
I decided to knit up some hand spun, this is the merino 2ply in the storm colourway, and I love how it looks caked up :)
I cast on 95sts on 5mm needles and made the handbrake cowl, I ran out of yarn with 5sts to go so had to yarn match to finish the bind off, considering it's hand spun I think I matched pretty well.
I cast on a super chunky ten stitch blanket using some left overs from toy knits, I'm using 5.5mm needles and could probably do with bigger ones but I don't have bigger in short straights.
I cast on the close to you scarf/shawl in the yarn tree merino/nylon sock yarn in the goofy colourway, it's looking really nice :)
I'm still working on the espresso macchiato socks in Nicole C. Mendez with WYS poppy seed heels, this is sock 2.
Spinning news!
209g 221m of a 2ply of the art batt (from spin city UK) and norboo in the I like warm hugs colourway (from fondant fibre).
Deep sea merino 2ply, 77g 93.5m
Undyed Romney 2ply, 100g 120m
Falkland 2ply, 105g 135m
2ply of left overs between Falkland and deep sea merino (8m)
I'm now at 7974.6m for stash dash :)
Goodies!
Nothing arrived yet but I went a little mad one bad evening with Norah George yarns and I have my the yarn tree boxes due :)

Finished objects :)

Knitting news!
I finished the earl grey hat from the tea collection in felt fusion sw merino aran. This is intended to be a chemo cap for a dear friend who starts treatment later this month.
I finished the test knit too, it knit up lovely regardless of my crazy gauge problems lol I've cast on the next test knit for the same designer. Sorry no pictures yet...
I also cast off the small ten stitch blanket, it's 24" x 27" it's a good baby size and will be great for car seats or buggy rides, and it took me over my 7k goal for stash dash 2016 :)
Spinning news!
I've plied the fondant fibre bag oh fun, 121g 126m of a 2ply.
I also finished the fondant fancies from fondant fibre, 199g 185m of a 2ply.
I spun my first arty batt (from spin city UK) as a single and am going to ply it with some norboo form fondant fibre. The batt was a little challenging with the abrupt changes in fibre and it shed quite a bit too but it was interesting. I'm not sure if I'll get another to try but never say never lol
Goodies!
My mix and match box is due and this months superwholock box should be exciting :)

Update: a bit of everything :)

Knitting news!
I cast off my like a leaf on the wind shawl in Norah George HT yarn in the whomping willow colourway. I love it so much and had just 1.5g left over...I'd been waiting for the right yarn and this was definitely it :) I have to admit the picot bind off took a few hours and got kinda taxing but it was worth it :)
I'm doing a test knit. Having some gauge issues but I'm still going to carry on and see how the pattern works up. Hopefully my info can still be of help to the designer.
I've been working on the small ten stitch blanket still but have't touched the toy whale. I've got yarn wound for a hat (for a dear friend), a cowl and socks, but all are yet to be cast on.
Spinning news!
Tour de fleece has started. I've joined team akerworks and fondant fibre.
Fondant fibre Shetland/baby alpaca/tussah silk 2ply, 94g 109m in the salt peanuts colourway. This was a jazz club colourway.
There was a little left on one bobbin so I attempted to navajo ply for the first time lol it was ridiculous, way more difficult than I'd anticipated and very funny to try, I got 3m so I guess it was a little help towards stash dash lol it's very kinky and curled up, I think I need to go a lot slower when I try it again.
I started some new singles, the bag oh fun from fondant fibre, a mixed selection of nests in different fibres and colourways, both with and without sparkle. I used all the colours in each single but in different orders.
Part 1...
Part 2...
I've prepped a few other fibres ready to spin and am hoping to get 200g a week plied, if I can't get them both plied at least the second spun into singles ready to ply the week after.
Goodies!
My fat squirrel bag finally arrived. There was a bit of an issue with the first shipment, it got lost in the post and didn't show up at my house by the end of June, even though it arrived in London on May 19th. Fearing the worst, I contacted Amy and let her know my parcel hadn't arrived. She kindly offered to send out a replacement when the fabric was back in for her to make a second one. I got a card through saying I owed customers over £30 for 2 parcels and I didn't know why...both the lost and replacement bags arrived on the same date, how odd but nothing to be done about it now. I let Amy know and she kindly let me keep the second bag. She had also sweetly included a wrapped llama which is really cute and I love the colours.
How stunning is this fabric...? I have to admit it's not something I could afford to order regularly but I just couldn't resist when I saw this one on her podcast.
My owl about yarn order arrived, I love these colourways, I got three different bases; BFL/nylon (K9 in the TARDIS), merino (gentle elegance) and merino/nylon/stellina (stormy night).
Along with the yarn I also got fibre from owl about yarn, I think I'm going to ply the two on the right together for a variegated gradient...If I spin it right lol
My new akerworks bobbins are on the way :)
I went to the autism show last week. It was really interesting and I got bombarded with lots of information, honestly I couldn't take it all in. I bought a few bits and got lots of leaflets and catalogues to look at new things and companies that may come in useful.
