Update: spinning and typhoon shawl

I got another small fondant fibre sample with an order, this one is sw BFL/nylon in the cheeky cherry cola colourway, spun on my 1oz snowflake obsidian tinas angoras spindle.

Singles...
I tried spinning some mixed Finn and silk on a spindle and struggled so I thought I'd try it on my wheel. I still struggled lol but was a tiny bit thinner lol though it's quite inconsistent and thicker than my previous spin, it just needs plying :) it was quite slippery and broke fairly easily compared to the BFL and corriedale I'd spun previously.
I finally reached the bind off for the typhoon shawl...I tried the bind off suggested and it was far too tight, so I did the stretchy yo bind off instead lol
It needs blocking but no space for it right now lol it looks beautiful though, I'm a little sad to be giving this one up lol especially that stunning purple, the picture does not do it justice :)
The cheeky cherry cola plied, 7g/5.9m of a 2ply
I'm thinking this lovely from countess ablaze mgiht become a blue whale shawl :)
I've plans for school knits for my son too...wish me luck as I've got too many plans compared to knitting time lol stash dash wise I'm into the 4000m and so I should reach my 5000m goal :)

Spinning galmore lol

Lots and lots of spinning again lol
This is a sample from fondant fibre of her harlequin in the bone colourway, it was spun and plied on my drop spindles (2ply) 33g/25.14m
Fondant fibre sw BFL 2ply 90g/86.9m on my kiwi 2 in the la la lupin colourway.
This was 2 different fondant fibre sample, I don't know the name of the purple but the orange is her new 70's wallpaper colourway, it came out at 19g/17.8m of a ply. I think this looks really cool and kind of hallowe'eny and have planned to do a full 200g like this :)
This is my new mega lovelies from fondant fibre to have fun with including 100g each of 70's wallpaper and Jack and Sally (a purple colourway) to try doing similar to the above mini skein.
Owl about yarn sw BFL in the Djelibeybi colourway, these are the singles and are really vibrant.
Wound on my new PVC niddy noddy. Which actually only turned out slightly cheaper than the wooden one I'd seen lol the wooden 2m one from adelaide walker was nearly £21 inc p+p and this was £16.70
My finished skein with a sneaky bit of purple from the leader I used on one single (also sw BFL but from fondant fibre la la lupin), I got 106.9m from 103g of a 2ply.
This was my terrible attempt at trying to hand dye some corriedale fibre with food colouring.
Singles, spun on my kiwi 2 and looking fairly fine...
My somewhat messy skein but I'm proud of myself, this is 93g/114.3m of a 2ply :)
My first countess ablaze fibre (top left) nightmare and (bottom left) gothika, and a skein of hymn for my soul on her Lady Persephone sock base.
This is not my spinning, I spun the green and plied it but my niece spun the silver on my wheel, and she did a little on my spindle too. She did really good, needed help but that's understandable and I was really impressed with her, she got about 12 yards but not sure what it weighed.
I've been loving my wheel and look forward to getting better and better :)

white wallaby & singles

Finally finished the white wallaby baby cardigan :)
This was knit with left over white DK in my stash and I lost yarn chicken so one cuff has another random white DK to finish it off lol I used stash buttons in a pale orange so the cardigan is still unisex.
I do get bored of purling lol not gonna be fun when doing bigger sizes lol that's the joy to knitting in the round, less purling lol
I've done a bit of spinning on my spindle this morning, two different coloured singles (from fondant fibre samples) which I'm going to ply together.
On the left is 70's wallpaper (merino/nylon) and on the right is a purple sample (I don't know the name) which feels like merino/nylon too.
Singles of each on the spindle...
Singles wound onto toilet roll tubes and ready to ply :) I think these together will make a really cool barber pole yarn :)
I'm hoping to ply bone, and if possible the la la lupin on my wheel today and these hopefully tomorrow.

All spinning again I'm afraid!

I'm really into this spinning lark lol I've still been knitting on the white wallaby cardigan and the typhoon shawl but I'm really enjoying my wheel and my spindle too :) I intended on spinning for under an hour on Thursday and 2 hours later I realised I'd missed the zumba class I'd intended on going to lol but I'd spun up all my singles to ply later that day lol
This is the merino left overs from my previous post plus a little green to finish plying it 18g/13.71m
Started my first Shetland
Singles...
And the yarn :) 89g/69.49m of a 2ply
This was a mini free sample from hilltop cloud and is really pretty :)
On the left is some left over singles from some fondant fibre rolags, and right is the spun up hilltop cloud sample.
I plied them together for a rather contrasty yarn :)
I got 7.3m from about 6g :) The lilac of the fondant fibre isn't showing up very well but it is pretty, and has sparkle which isn't showing at all lol
More purple sample punis from fondant fibre, these kept looking blue so used a filter to get closer to the colour they are but not perfect, 15g/18.74m
Started spinning some sw BFL fondant fibre nests on my wheel :) colour is la la lupin and it's contrasty orange and blues with some almost white in there too :)
Singles...and will hopefully two ply this tomorrow as I've got new fibre and more on the way I can't wait to play with lol people need to stop being awesome and having stunning new colours and/or coupon codes lol
Spun up a sample of fondant fibre harlequin in the bone colourway, well the singles at least, on my snowflake obsidian spindle and will hopefully ply tomorrow too.
Some of my new fibre arrived today, so late I was worried lol but it's here and beautiful :) these are from owl about yarn, I got 1 each of (top) amethyst polwarth and (middle) djelibeybi BFL and 2 of (bottom) mid Atlantic BFL. I'm trying to decide whether to mix up and spin a full braid of singles and ply with some of my other owl about yarn fibre so it's a little contrasty...opinions...? All my stash is on ravely, though my old fibre stash is under handspun as I got it before I found the fibre tab in the stash section lol everything since boxing day is in the stash section under the fibre tab :) I know I should move it all over but it's too much effort when I know it's there lol
I've also got some sample sets form hilltop cloud coming and yet more fondant fibre as she had an awesome update today lol
I think...no I know, I'm obsessed lol and spinning adds to my yarn stash not reduces it lol though I'm thinking of spinning up some more merino and mixing them all up to make a super bulky hat or cowl for my son :)
I still need to work on getting thinner, I think I'm spinning fine but then when plied it's a lot thicker than I realise.
All my yardage is helping with stash dash and tour de fleece :)

Spinning Fever!

Mixed Finn and silk, spun one nest on my spindle and not sure if I like it so wondering whether to do the rest on my wheel...? Suggestions?
Using my new Tinas Angoras 1 oz spindle to spin some free punis form Fondant Fibre.
3 colours of merino tops set spun on each bobbin.
Plying :)
I only have a 1 yard niddy noddy so had to break it up but it looks so cool :)
51.2m of a 2ply from about 80g of merino tops tutti frutti set :) my yardage is super rubbish but I'm happy with how it looks even though it's thick and thin :)

Spinning crazy!

I got the cheviot off my bobbin, only 1.8m of a 2ply but it was a small sample :)
Merino/nylon singles on my kiwi 2
Merino/nylon 2ply, 13g/10.5m
Second 50g of Kent Romney, 30.63m of a 2ply
100g/ 59.86m Kent Romney 2ply
Norboo from fondant fibre, single on left, 2ply on right.
 24.5g norboo berry smotthie 2ply, 10.5m
Merino tops 10g/6.62m of a 2ply done on my new tinas angoras 1oz spindle.
Thinking this mixed Finn and silk may be next on my spindle :) and got merino tutti frutti on my wheel :)
Really getting into spinning, though keep getting covered in bits of fibre lol
