Knitting update

Sorry it's been so long, it's difficult to keep up to date with anything during the school holidays. After my son finished summer school we went on holiday, it was nice, the views were stunning, and he took his shoes off on the beach without freaking out, I was very proud of him :) We've also been to Blackpool a couple of times, the rest of the time we've been local but either hectic or tired...or both lol I've done a fair amount of knitting but no spinning sadly, thought I'd share all I have managed though.
Knitting news!
Whilst on holiday I made my son a pair of wellie socks, knit using West Yorkshire Spinners DK sock yarn on 3mm needle, I used the toasty explorer pattern by Joeli Caparco on ravelry.
I made a blanket for my sons Iggle Piggle toy, I used the ten stitch blanket pattern (free on ravelry). Yarn is unknown scraps from my stash, gifted to me by anther knitter without a ball band.
I finished the mad woman with a yarn box sock, I used the bootstrap pattern by Lara Neel but modified the heel slightly, yarn is by the yarn tree and knit on 2mm needles, from her SuperWhoLock box.
I made another pair of modified bootstrap socks on 2.25mm needles, in Norah George yarn, the first of her Dobby's handknit socks colourways. I had some gauge issues so the heel is a little looser than my usual sock but it'll still get worn :) I like that these are odd but still matching :)
I'm thinking of making some washcloths for my family members this Christmas so been making a few random ones from the selection of patterns I have in my ravelry library.
I've just finished a test knit for Chrissy of the stitched together podcast, this is the captured colours shawl, knit with 1 skein of fingering weigh yarn; I used 98.2g of the yarn tree merino/nylon/stellina in the princesses colourway (from her Disney box) on 3.75mm needles.
The bakery bears podcats have been hosting a summer of socks KAL in their ravelry group and at the end of August people are submitting their stack of socks, I got 9.5" from 8 pairs of adult socks. Far from the highest but I'm happy with all I managed :)
New on the needles is an odd pair of WYS socks, I've a ways to go but I hope the two colourways I've picked will look good together :) I had some issues with gauge, I cast on with DPNs (first time in  a very long time) and when I measured them after the cuff they were actually a size smaller than stated, so I switched to magic loop and my usual needles.
Still on the needles but not touched is the wasabi whale toy for my son and the super chunky ten stitch blanket. I've plenty more plans but have yet to cast them on...mainly coz it's mostly socks and I prefer to knit on one pair at a time lol
Happy Crafting!
